MACAU: LAS VEGAS OF THE EAST

Macau is a wonderful cultural collision of Chinese heritage and Portuguese colonial influence. The result is a pint-sized high-octane peninsula of energy and fun.

Macau is the degenerate sibling of Pearl River Delta gatekeepers

Macau was the first trip I made during my year of living in Hong Kong between July 1996 to July 1997. It is a fascinating small peninsula acting as the South Western gatekeeper to the Pearl River Delta. Hong Kong being its North Eastern gatekeeper sibling. Macau is the oldest European colony in East Asia.

Like Hong Kong, Macau is a surprise package offering diversity in culture, architecture, food, activities and history within the Asia Pacific region…
